We get it, not everyone will get the time (or the will) to exercise at home or hit the gym. Sitting in that office or college desk all day long and staring at that screen or that blackboard is boring, why not switch that routine up?

So, here are some desk or office exercises to perform at your workplace whenever you’ll get time without temper your work or studies:

1. Take the damn staircase

SKIP THE ELEVATOR. Avoid those god awful awkward lift silences and TAKE THE DAMN STAIRS! Trust us, this makes a world of a difference, and it doesn’t even require any extra time or efforts.

2. Get a (Leg) Raise

While sitting, straighten your leg and hold for 10 seconds. Lower it almost to the floor, hold and repeat with the other leg.

3. Walk The Talk

And we mean that quite literally. Invest in a good headset and walk around while attending to official calls. In fact, take advantage of every opportunity you get to walk around!

4. Do Some Stretch!

Sitting in that same position is really bad for your posture. Take a quick stroll every now and then, stretch your arms and legs, and rotate your neck. If you sit in a space where all your colleagues are sitting with you and you don’t want to seem creepy doing this, well, what are washrooms for?

5. Breathing Exercises

You could try SamaVritti (Equal breathing). All you have to do is inhale for a count of four, then exhale for a count of four (all through the nose, which adds a natural resistance to the breath). Similarly, alternate nostril breathing also known as anulom/vilom pranayama (#RamdevSwag) is also great for work, as it helps not only de-stress but also supplies oxygen to the entire blood stream.

 

LASTLY, DON’T TAKE IT TOO FAR
Staying fit is just that, staying fit.

Don’t do it because you think you are fat. Remember, you need to focus on being healthy. It is okay to have a tiny bit of fat, it is okay to have curves (shoutout to the Kardashian/Jenner clan!), and it is okay to not look like a wrestler on steroids.
